The mission of Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center is to inspire youth and adults to be healthy and active citizens through organic gardening, environmental stewardship, and nutrition education. The organization's purpose is to build healthy families and a healthy community. During this challenging time, Olivewood has focused on keeping community needs front and center - from providing fresh produce and dried goods to over 60 families weekly, to developing online educational resources and virtual learning experiences for school children, high school youth, and adults; to creating opportunities for social connection and mental health check-ins for program graduates and volunteers. Olivewood's work is based in social equity, food justice, environmental stewardship, community engagement, and leadership development.
